What we are looking for from a cover letter

Please use your cover letter to tell us why you want this post and about the experience, skills and personal qualities you would bring. Remember that we are interested in your whole life experience.

We are looking for applicants to illustrate how their experiences and skills meet the criteria we have stated we are looking for within the job description for the role and why they would like the role.

When the hiring managers review your application, they will mark your cover letter on a point-based scale against each criteria point in the personal specification within the job description.

To give yourself the best chance, please read the job description thoroughly and reference each criteria point within your cover letter.

This is an opportunity for you to sell your experience and skills and let us know why you would be suitable for the role. Don’t hold back; if you do not let us know why you would be a good fit, we won’t find out.

Cover letters should be thorough, but please don’t exceed 1000 words.

We recommend writing your cover letter within a word processor before copying and pasting it into the application form. A free online word processor can be found here – https://docs.google.com/
