*Deadline: Thursday 30 April at 17.00. Please note – BDP reserves the right to close the vacancies earlier if suitable applications are received.
The Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) is seeking to make three new appointments to our Board of Trustees. We are seeking to recruit new trustees who have expertise in Clinical governance.
About BDP:
BDP has been supporting the people of Bristol around their drug and alcohol use for the past 40 years. Our mission is to provide treatment and support to reduce the harms associated with drugs and alcohol. We support people towards the changes they want to see in their lives. Our current activities include:
- Provision of advice and equipment to people who use or intend to use drugs, to support reducing the harms associated with substance use
- Provision of opioid substitution therapy for opioid users
- Support for young people affected by drug and alcohol use
- Support for people at various stages of recovery from drug and alcohol use
- Creative and social activities to support those in recovery
In early 2025 BDP partnered with other local and national organisations to provide the newly commissioned drugs and alcohol treatment and support service to people in Bristol under the umbrella title of Horizons Bristol. In 2025 BDP also entered into a separate partnership to provide drug and alcohol treatment services in Bath and North East Somerset.
This is an exciting time for the organisation given our entry into the new partnerships mentioned above and that BDP is finalising our strategic plan for the next 5 years. This will involve significant investment of resources to facilitate expanding the range of services we provide in the South West of England.
It is envisaged that each of the newly appointed trustees will bring a range of relevant expertise that will contribute to the successful implementation of the Strategic Plan. This in turn will ensure that BDP continues to fulfil our goal to deliver excellent service to people who seek support and treatment for their substance use.
