BDP Creative Communities Partners with Trinity

We’re excited to announce a new chapter for BDP Creative Communities: our partnership Trinity, that launched in April!

About Creative Communities

Creative Communities is Bristol Drugs Project’s arts programme: a thriving, ten-year initiative that delivers weekly creative groups and events for people affected by drug and alcohol use. At its core, the programme is about building confidence, expression, and connection through creativity.

Why Trinity?

Trinity Centre is a historic Bristol building and one of the city’s few remaining grassroots venues. Known for its rich music heritage, it has hosted iconic acts such as Gorillaz, The Prodigy, and Young Fathers. Although, Trinity is more than just a venue, it’s a vital community space that welcomes over 73,000 people each year through a diverse programme of arts, heritage, and cultural events.

Trinity delivers all its work in line with three core values: Respond, Empower, and Amplify. Their mission, to empower communities through the arts and ensure everyone has the opportunity to access and shape arts and culture in Bristol, aligns perfectly with Creative Communities’ values.

What does the partnership mean for us?

We’re thrilled that many of Creative Communities’ long-running groups—including Bristol Recovery Orchestra (in partnership with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra) and Beginners Music (in partnership with Changing Tunes), will now be based at Trinity, providing a supportive and inspiring environment.

We’re also excited to be launching a follow-on intermediate music group with Trinity. This group is a progression from our Beginners Music sessions, designed for those ready to build on their existing skills. It will offer the chance to grow in confidence with beginner instruments, connect with others who have had similar experiences, and enjoy music-making in a relaxed, judgment-free space.

Group members will have the opportunity to develop their musical abilities, write and record their own music in a professional studio at Trinity, and optionally perform at the Creative Communities Show.

In addition, Trinity is now proudly one of BDP’s Bristol Sober Spaces venues, reinforcing a shared commitment to inclusive events for everyone.

Keep an eye on our socials to stay up to date with all our upcoming events and announcements—we can’t wait to share what’s next!
