What is naloxone?
Naloxone is one of the most powerful tools we have to counter death from an opioid overdose. Naloxone is a medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose giving emergency services more time to respond to an emergency. Naloxone can work within 5 minutes and can last for between 20 and 40 minutes. This could be the difference that might save a person’s life in an overdose situation. Naloxone comes in both pre-measured syringes and a nasal spray.
Can I get a naloxone kit?
Yes! We can provide naloxone for free to anyone who may come into close contact with an individual who uses opioids.
We also provide equipment and training for professionals who may come across an individual presenting overdose symptoms in their line of work.

Need training on how to use naloxone?
Our naloxone training sessions will teach you everything you need to know about administering naloxone.
The training will cover the different types of naloxone, identifying the symptoms of an opiate overdose, how to administer naloxone and how to replace your kit if it has perished or been used.
Training sessions will be run on a frequent basis from our Brunswick Court building and will be in groups of up to 5 at a time. The training will begin promptly we will be unable to allow entrance 15 minutes after the start time.
