Promoting your right to free and fair health care.

What is Promote?

At BDP we pride ourselves on being able to offer dedicated support to people in Bristol whose needs are often overlooked or underrepresented by health services.

Promote is an innovative new project supporting marginalised male sex workers and their clients (and sex workers of other underserved genders) to access a range of free and fair health care in Bristol.

We advocate for the rights of sex workers, masseurs and escorts, working across all platforms of the sex industry, to access a range of support.

  • 1-to-1 interventions
  • PrEP information
  • access to HIV testing
  • sex workers support group
  • advocacy on behalf of sex workers
  • sexual health resources
  • advice about safer drug use

Promote is part of our continued work into promoting safer sex and drugs in Bristol and exploring how Bristol could be responding to the chemsex scene.

Who are we?

Promote is brought to you by BDP and Terrence Higgins Trust, having been awarded HIV Prevention Innovation Funding in late 2017.

The new project will see us bringing our 30 years of experience working with underserved and hidden populations, together with THT’s renowned support for HIV and sexual health. We will continue to build upon (our dedicated LGBT+ service) Prism’s strong relationships and innovative outreach with communities of men who have sex with men.

I am very proud and excited to announce that we have been awarded funding by Public Health England to develop a 12-month innovative intervention in partnership with Terrance Higgins Trust aiming to engage underserved Male Sex Workers and their clients with existing Sexual Health Services in Bristol
