We have an opening in our Early Engagement and Intervention team for a Diverse Communities Link Worker.
Now in our 34th year, BDP is an expert and energetic charity working with more than 3,000 people a year, in a vibrant city with an increasingly diverse population.
Working in partnership with organisations and communities your key tasks are:
- Raising awareness of alcohol and drug use and developing routes into ROADS for people who would benefit from support, which is both acceptable and accessible to them.
- Working directly with individuals who are affected by alcohol and drug use who are from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic and Faith communities to engage them with our services.
Without a judgmental bone in your body you will understand both the stigma and barriers people face in connecting with support for alcohol or drug use. You will be fluent in Somali, a South Asian or East European language. And your personal experience of living or working in the communities we seek to connect with will enable you to open doors to increase support for Bristol’s diverse communities.
