Treatment and Detox Support
Shared Care Plus
Support is provided for patients who are already receiving support and a substitute prescription at their health centre or surgery with their GP and BDP for problematic opiate (e.g. heroin) use. Patients who need extra support, who are new to receiving support, are experiencing a crisis or who are ready to withdraw from their prescribed medication are referred by their GP or existing shared care worker at their health centre. Patients are encouraged to make more effective use of their existing treatment programme and to engage in relevant local services.
Community Detox Service
This service is a partnership between BDP and Bristol Specialist Drug Service (BSDS). We will help you plan an individual detox programme including medical and social support. We will work closely with your existing treatment and support programmes and build links with other types of support appropriate to your individual needs.
This service is for people who could realistically expect to complete the withdrawal phase of an opiate detox within 6–8 weeks.
