Needle Exchange
BDP offers a needle exchange service during drop-in, which you can find details for below. We also give advice and information around harm reduction for drug users and safer injecting.
For those who live in less central areas we also operate a mobile service and there are several pharmacies we supply across Bristol that offer needle exchange, some out of hours.

When you elect to use the Needle Exchange you will need to choose between using the service weekly or daily.
Weekly Needle Exchange
This allows you to exchange used needles for new ones on a weekly basis. You will be able to exchange up to 40 needles per visit if you return your used needles from the last visit. Citric and swabs will be available.
Daily Needle Exchange
The daily needle exchange is available to enable people to exchange their needles on a daily basis. This will make it easier for people who, for whatever reason, find it difficult to keep hold of their new and used needles for any length of time.
The daily exchange service will offer up to five needles per visit, with two visits allowed each day (extra needles will be given out on Friday to cover the weekend). Citric and swabs will also be available. This service will operate on a strict exchange basis, and if clients do not return their used needles, their next exchange will be restricted.
